Notable champion in acquisition training, management and professional development. Al is a retired Colonel with the U.S. Air Force with the following certifications: DAWIA Level III (Contracting); DAWIA Level I (Program Management); Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM); and Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM). Has held executive positions with: DoD, NCMA and Industry.
PACE Chairman. He has over 44 years of combined military and public sector experience in contract management. Served as a member of the Federal Senior Executive Service and a Brigadier General in the U.S. Air Force. Held leadership positions as: President (DAU) and Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) of the Air Force (AF) (Contracting). A champion for the strategic development of the Defense Acquisition Workforce. Certifications include: DAWIA Level III (Contracting); and Level III (Program Management).
Mr. Shamlal’s experience extends over 20 years in various aspects of IT consulting, information assurance, financial analysis, organizational assessment, procurement support, business management, requirements analysis, and teaching systems design as an adjunct IT professor at a 4-year university. Mr. Shamlal holds a Civil Engineering degree as well as an MBA from American University.
Mr. Gentzel is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of PACE. With over a decade of experience, Mr. Gentzel oversees the financial, contracts/legal, human resources, recruiting and IT departments of the company. Mr. Gentzel received his Bachelor’s degree from The Pennsylvania State University and his Master’s degree from Marymount University.
